ABSTRACT
In the May period of the year 2005, we had analyzed the trophic spectrum of a total number of 61 Pelophylax kl. esculentus, collected from two habitats from the Teuz Valley region (24 from Igneşti, 37 from Prunişor).
We extracted a total number of 494 prey items belonging to 27 categories (129- Igneşti, 365- Prunişor). Beside invertebrate preys, plant materials and remaining of molted skin were identified in the stomach contents.
Regarding the feeding intensity, this has higher values for the population from Igneşti. The feeding difference between the two studied populations is significant with P<0.05. Regarding the correlation between the size of the analyzed frogs and feeding intensity it is noticeable a slight decrease of the regression slope. However, the result is not significant from the statistic point of view.
