RESEARCHES ON SOME POPULATIONS OF Bombina variegate

ABSTRACT

158 individuals of Bombina variegata were the subject of our study, proceeding from six areas in west of Mehedinţi County. All studied populations had Bombina bombina features as well. The ratio of B. variegata features from the populations from Mehedinţi is higher than the ratio from the populations living in western Romania at higher altitudes. Until now, in Mehedinţi is the lowest altitude in Romania where this situation was found.
