Fittonia argyroneura Coem. originary from Brazil, is a reduced size creeper plant, of 10-15 cm height, cultivated for its very decorative emerald-green leaves with white nervures and with the aspect of a very delicate network.
In the present paper we wish to approach some aspects related to the vegetative propagation for Fittonia argyroneura var. Nana and the evolution of the cuttings after rooting.
The observations and the determinations focused on the number and the length of the roots, the portion where the roots formed, and the evaluation of the quality of the cuttings according to the medium used for rooting, by determining the length and the number of roots.
Diminishing the living space, especially in the city, led to a change of the type of decorative plants that were cultivated. In this context, in the latest years an accentuated tendency to cultivate reduced size plants for apartments and also for balconies and terraces it was noticed.
