SUMMARY

The paper presents chorological aspects concerning Tilia tomentsa Moench. (Tiliaceae) in Romania. T. tomentosa is a common and widespread species throughout Romania, considered by different authors as a medicinal and ornamental plant.

Chorological data regarding T. tomentosa distribution are presented using bibliographical information, numerous data from different Herbaria and data collected from fieldwork. An important revision of voucher specimens was performed. A chorological map using U.T.M. system is presented and commented in detail.
