ABSTRACT
Benefiting of ecopaedoclimatic, especially favorable conditions for vine cultivating, Oltenia has always adopted the Mediterranean viticultural model as well in producing high quality wines (France) as in producing table grapes (Italy).
Among the EU's viticultural zones, the vineyards of the Getic Piemont are framed into the C1(a) zone, while the ones from the Danube Terraces, the sandy fields and from other favorable zones in the North of Oltenia are recorded in the CII zone (both are applying the Mediterranean viticultural model - French and Italian, with local nuances).
The globalization of the European viticultural production, unitary in its diversity, requests mostly for the promotion of native kinds, which provide the identity of the Romanian viticulture, such like Victoria for table grapes and C.O.D.-H.Q. wines like Feteasca alba, Feteasca neagra, Tamaioasa romaneasca, Grasa de Cotnari.
