ABSTRACT

The potato for sowing represents one of the most important factors in achieving high quality, constant and great productions. By using at sowing an adequate biological material, it can be avoided crop losses of 38-60 % or even more (70-80), compared to the uncertified material and to a larger percentage of viral diseases infection (I. BENEA, NAN I., 2003).

For obtaining high yields, with good quality and cost-efficient, major roles are played by the strict observance of the technological norms, such as: placing the culture in favorable areas, crop rotation, isolation distance, maintenance of the production capacity of the varieties, as well as by the use of modern technologies, among these being the utilization for sowing of a material with high productivity and biologic and phytosanitary qualities.
