ABSTRACT
The sowing material for potato is an actual and permanent topic in the potato producing countries, even in those with an old tradition in its production and multiplication.
Producing potato sowing material is a scientific and professional activity, based on the conservative amelioration of the positive repeated clonal selection, with the diagnose of the viral diseases, modernized during the last decade. These techniques of quick micropropagation (stem seedlings, micro- and minitubers) can not provide the whole amount of potato seeds for a country, due to the many special works, that increase the sow tubers until an inefficient price.
In this context, a viable solution can be the potato multiplication in specialized areas or farms, in counties outside the traditional, closed areas
